Also called Red Tea, Rooibos is an herb indigenous to the Cederberg region of South Africa. It has a deep, earthy vanilla taste, is rich in antioxidants and known for its calming affects.
Bring fresh water to a boil and pour over a bag of Rooibos. Steep 5-6 minutes. This perfect bedtime teasan will dissolve your worries away. Great with milk! For iced tea, steep 2 tea bags, cool and pour over ice.

Rooibos Green Beans
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
- 2 cups water
- 2 tea bags Rooibos
- 4 cups green beans, cut into 1” pieces
- 1/3 cup finely chopped onions
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
Bring water to a boil. Add tea bags and green beans. Cook until beans are a bit tender. Scoop green beans out and stir in a bowl with onions. Reserve Rooibos teasan and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, 2 tbsp. of teasan, salt and pepper. Pour over salad and stir to coat. In Good Health!
